Our dedicated prayer team meets at 10:45 am each Sunday, before services to pray for our church, our section, our family & friends, our nation and our world. Our prayer team will also cover those prayer request submitted through our website here and those submitted at Sunday morning services. To join our prayer team ministry, email Lu Gregory. Breakthrough"Breakthrough" is a ministry that provides meals, community and devotionals to men and women staying at shelters in Chicago. Our team of volunteers donate funds for the purchase of food, purchase the food, then every other month we travel to a men's shelter and a women's shelter in Chicago.
At the shelters there are nice, big kitchens where the food is prepared. After a devotional time, we serve to those staying at the shelters and enjoy a meal and fellowship with the guest. Habitat for Humanity BuildBuilding strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelterOur section looks to give back to the community by helping others build or improve the place they call home. Various builds take place through the year: all men builds, all women builds and family builds. Needed skills are very minimal--just a willing heart. Hospitality TeamHelping guest feel the love of God by welcoming them through friendly & authentically gracious service.Are you a coffee drinker, have the gift of hospitality, is your love language "acts of service" or do you love baking? We would be delighted to have you join our hospitality team!
Our team serves on a rotation, contributing in simple but important ways, such as: *Setting up for coffee connects and other section gatherings. *Cleaning up after section gatherings conclude. *Providing homemade or store bought snacks/foods and drinks.
